Our Story

Traditional ghani oil press with oxen at a village farm

Gaon Ghani began in Kastala Kasmabad, a village near Hapur in Uttar Pradesh, where the wooden ghani has been turning for generations. When mustard seed is pressed slowly and cold, the oil keeps its pungency and nutrients — nothing like the refined, deodorised oil sold in cities.

We work directly with farming families who still follow traditional, chemical-free practices. Ghee is churned by the bilona method from cultured curd. Masalas are sun-dried and stone-ground in small batches. Gud and khaand are boiled in open pans with no sulphur or bleach.

Everything is packed fresh, in small lots, so what reaches your kitchen still smells of the field it came from. That is our only promise: gaon ka swad, shuddhata ka vishwas.
