Gaon Ghani (“we”, “us”, “our”) sells wood-pressed oils, bilona ghee, stone-ground spices and unrefined sweeteners online at gaonghani.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you browse or order from us, why we need it, and the choices you have. It applies to gaonghani.com and to orders placed through our checkout.

Order and contact details: your name, delivery and billing address, phone number and email address, so we can pack, ship and support your order.

Payment information: payments are processed by Shopify and its payment partners. We receive only a confirmation of payment and the last digits of the instrument — we never see or store full card numbers, UPI PINs or banking credentials.

Account and login data: if you sign in with a mobile OTP, we receive your verified phone number and a session identifier so we can recognise you across the site. We keep this in your browser session only and do not sell it.

Usage data: pages viewed, products added to basket, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address, used to keep the store fast, secure and relevant.

Communications: messages you send by email, phone or WhatsApp, kept as a record of your support requests.

To process, pack, ship and deliver your order, and to send order confirmation, dispatch and delivery updates by email and SMS.

To handle returns, replacements and refunds under our Shipping, Returns & Refunds policy.

To answer your questions on email, phone or WhatsApp.

To prevent fraud, misuse and abuse of promotional offers, and to comply with tax, accounting and food-safety record-keeping obligations under Indian law.

We use cookies and browser storage to remember your basket, keep you signed in during a visit, and understand which pages and products people find useful. Essential cookies are required for the store and checkout to work. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the basket and checkout may then not function correctly.

Order, invoice and tax records are retained for eight years as required by Indian tax law. Support conversations are kept for up to three years. Marketing consent records are kept until you unsubscribe, and analytics data is retained in aggregated form.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, withdraw marketing consent, or request deletion of data we are not legally required to keep. Email info@gaonghani.com from the address on your order and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the relevant data protection authority in India.

Our store runs over encrypted HTTPS connections and payments are handled by PCI-DSS compliant providers. Access to order data inside our team is limited to the people who fulfil and support orders. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your login OTPs private and tell us immediately if you suspect misuse of your account.

Our store is intended for customers aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has shared data with us, write to info@gaonghani.com and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as our store, partners or the law change. The current version always lives at gaonghani.com/privacy, and material changes will be announced on this page and, where appropriate, by email.
